SMD is a replaceable insert type drill with exchangeable heads using a unique radial serration design for high precision and strength.
The exchangeable drill heads provide new cutting edges, higher productivity and cost efficiency with easy tool management. A re-grinding allowance of 1.5 to 3.0mm makes further tool cost reduction possible.
Bodies are available in 1.5xD / 3xD / 5xD / 8xD and 12xD lengths.
Inserts are also available in three different styles to maximise performance:
SMDT-MTL - Standard edge preperation for Steel applications
SMDT-MEL - Light edge preperation for Super Alloys, Stainless Steels and Cast Iron
SMDT-MFS - 180 Degree Flat bottom preperation - Ideal for drilling on non-flat surfaces and creating less burr
