Marforged Metal X

Markforged Metal X - Metal 3D Printing System

* OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF METAL X WILL BE AT EMEX - May 5th ~ 7th 2020 *

The Markforged Metal X is the world's first Atomic Diffusion Additive Manufacturing (ADAM) machine and consists of three stages, printing, washing and sintering. Its up to 10x less expensive than alternative metal additive manufacturing technologies and up to 100x less than traditional fabrication technologies like machining or casting. Affordable, reliable, and easy to use, the Metal X print system give you everything you need to go from design to fully functional metal parts faster than ever before!

ADAM Technology - A brief guide;

The Metal X uses an innovative technology to 3D print metal. Metal powder appears in the printing material in a very high concentration and is spooled, therefore it can be delivered via a heated nozzle. The means printing is done by the already proven FDM process. Reassuringly, its completely without the toxic metal dust usually associated with metal printing. The sintering process that follows causes atomic diffusion (ADAM). This is due to the heat, the atoms shift slightly and stick together, resulting in an overnight metal part. Upon completion the components achieve excellent mechanical properties and enormous rigidity in all directions.

ADAM allows the creation of unique geometry, such as closed honeycomb structures. As a result components that resemble a complex bone structure can be realised with the Metal X - In other words, a closed cell inside encased in a sturdy outer shell. Unsurprisingly, this geometry cannot be manufactured with traditional subtractive methods or even with direct metal laser sintering (DMLS). This means that the Metal X will allow you and your team to develop new products and components formerly not possible.

Large Construction Volume, High Quality Resolution!

The Metal X has a large construction volume, this enables the production of major components, end-use parts or spare parts in a range of materials quickly and inexpensively. Components can be printed with a layer height of 50 micron, therefore even the smallest details can have the highest precision.

Metal X Build Volume = 300mm Wide x 220mm Deep x 180mm High

Metal X Printing Materials include:

17-4 STAINLESS STEEL - Combines high strength, corrosion resistance and hardness. Used in a wide variety of manufacturing applications.

H13 TOOL STEEL - A hot-work tool steel with excellent toughness, wear resistance and heat resistance. Excels in high temperatures.

A2 TOOL STEEL - Can be air-hardened to 58HRC, excellent impact resistance. Used for forming tooling, punches and dies.

D2 TOOL STEEL - Can be air-hardened to 60HRC, trades toughness for hardness and abrasion resistance. Great for cutting tools and dies.
